Jameela Jamil Celebrates Her Arm Jiggle

Jameela Jamil is loving her arm jiggle and she wants you to love yours too

The world makes it tough for women to embrace very normal things about their bodies. Between seemingly perfect celebs, Photoshop, and harmful diet culture, women are told constantly in ways both overt and subtle that we need to tighten up, trim down, and have zero lumps or bumps. Not only is that utter bullshit, it’s not remotely reality for just about every woman. Case in point? The stunning and brilliant Jameela Jamil, who is our forever advocate for loving yourself exactly how you are, showing us her absolutely normal arm jiggle.

Jamil posted a video of her extremely common arm jiggle that pretty much every women has. “Love thine arms. I love mine,” she captioned it.

YAS KWEEN. I exercise every single day, including lots of resistance work and weights, and my arms look JUST like hers in the video. That’s because regardless of fitness level or body type, just about every woman alive has some arm jiggle. It’s so completely normal and yet, how often do we see women, famous or not, happily showing it off? LOL that would be next to never.

It’s not the first time Jamil has made a point to show the world that her body is not what Photoshopped magazine covers have convinced so many women is normal. She took to Instagram last year with a photo of the cellulite on her thighs and a message every single woman needs to hear and absorb. “Even the bits you were told were ‘wrong.’ They aren’t wrong, they’re fucking normal. They’re human. Thank your body today. It’s your friend. Whether or not fashion and film told you it is… 💁🏽‍♀️ These are my babe-bumps,” she writes. Hell. Yes.

A day after sharing the arm jiggle vid, she took to the ‘Gram again to double down on the arm jiggle love “Glad we could all agree on the last video that arms are great and fun and the LAST thing we should be worrying about. Think for a second today about every single thing your arms do for you on a daily basis. Then give them a little kiss from me. See also: THIS APPLIES TO ALL JIGGLE ON ALL BODY PARTS,” she writes.

Are you also nodding enthusiastically after reading that? Or perhaps taking a moment to observe and appreciate your own jiggle? Because Jamil’s positivity about perceived “flaws” is truly contagious. As women, we’re fed so much garbage messaging about our bodies and how they “should” look that it’s very possible most of us forget that it doesn’t have to be this way. We don’t have to hate ourselves or try to change things that literally don’t need changing. Jamil’s voice is a welcome one because until we all believe it ourselves, hearing her in our heads telling us we have nothing to worry about when it comes to our bodies is very necessary.
