- Jenna said she’s not sure if she’ll go back to keto, noting the diet can be hard to maintain.
Jenna Jameson has practically been a spokesperson for the keto diet for more than a year, after losing 80 pounds with the high-fat, low-carb eating plan. She even launched the Instagram account @ketocantlose to share tips and tricks with fellow keto fans. Now, she says, she’s taken a break from the diet—and she gained 20 pounds.
“Confession. I’ve gained 20 pounds. Ugh,” Jenna wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself in a blue sweatshirt. “I decided to take a break from #keto and live my best carby life. The weight came back fast and furious.”
Jenna said she knows a lot of people quit keto “because it’s hard to maintain and after a year and a half I concur.” Now, she said, her future with keto is unclear. “Not sure if I’m going to go back full force or just calorie count,” she wrote. “What are your thoughts? Love you guys!”
Jenna also shared in the comments that she now weighs 140.
People flooded Jenna’s comments section with encouragement. “You look amazing,” one wrote. “I think it’s amazing that you’re just honest. Not really about the number, but in general that it’s hard. You’re awesome mama,” another said.
Others said they had a similar experience with keto. “I took a week off and gain 7lbs like rapid fireeeee,” one said. (“Yup! It’s crazy!” Jenna replied.)
Jenna had hinted recently that she wasn’t as all-in with keto as she once was. She revealed on Instagram in July that “jumping back on the wagon after losing control and eating like a crazed banshee.” But, she said at the time, she planned to start up keto again.
Serious props for being honest about your journey, Jenna!
